This was one of the biggest projects in the UK, before I set up my small Painting and Decorating HOME and GARDEN IMPROVEMENTS. (That time my company in UK called Czech Mates Home Improvements).
On this project I was hired for general labor. I worked from start to finish on this project which ended up taking over 9 months.
This project was to turn a farm barn into a cottage style house. I used my experience from previous jobs as a digger driver and rebuilding my own house back in Czech Republic, when I learned multiple trades like BRICK / BLOCK WORK, CARPENTRY, PAINTING, DECORATING, LANDSCAPING, and other trades.
During that time, I earned the trust of the homeowner, and he started to give me small individual projects within his HOME and GARDEN IMPROVEMENTS.
Towards to the end, I did some carpentry work like Installing skirting boards, door frames and doors in the house. Also, I end up finishing the house with internal and external painting and decorating.
Last but not least was to finish the garden around the house.
I really enjoyed working on this project, because it gave me multiple options of trade which I could do and see the final picture of someone’s big dream come true and see the happiness on the persons face.
Apart from earning money, I earned other experience and new trades and as I mentioned, make someone happy.
